Welcome to our next blog series: Toxin-Free Skin Care!
In this series we'll be looking at great toxin-free
alternatives to keep your skin looking fabulous!
Enjoy this first post about a wonderful carrier oil,
Jojoba.
When making the decision to switch to a more
natural skincare routine, you might be surprised
to hear about all of the benefits of jojoba oil.
For starters, it’s non-comedogenic. Which means
that it won’t clog your pores.
This is especially good news for those of us with
sensitive skin, the kind that tends to easily break
out from the use of facial oil.
And part of your skincare routine is to remove
excess dirt and oil from your face, so knowing that
a natural oil won’t cause buildup is a major plus.
Another benefit of jojoba oil is that structurally
speaking, it’s incredibly similar to the natural sebum
that your own skin produces.
Which is why so many people use it as a daily moisturizer,
seeing as how it comes straight from nature.
If you’re someone who often wears makeup, then here’s
yet another reason to add jojoba oil to your skincare
routine: it’s a game-changer when it comes to removing
stubborn makeup.
This means that instead of using makeup-removal wipes
before you even wash your face, a quick application of
jojoba oil will do the trick. I especially love this for mascara
removal.
And this is also good for the environment, since you won’t
be adding those wipes to your garbage or septic system.
If those two benefits haven’t convinced you to incorporate
jojoba oil into your natural skincare routine, then maybe
this will.
Jojoba oil is full of natural, anti-inflammatory properties.
Inflammation of the skin happens when you’ve been outside too
long under the sun, perhaps with either very little or no
sunscreen, and your skin gets sunburned. Aloe vera will help,
but so will jojoba oil.
Or perhaps you’ve been picking at a zit or have a wound on
your face that’s become irritated. Try applying a little bit
of jojoba oil to see if the natural, anti-inflammatory
properties help calm your skin down.
You can easily find jojoba oil in whole food shops,
health stores and even beauty retailers. Look for ones
that are 100% and all natural, and test it out on a small
part of your skin first.
In our next blog post I'll discuss the benefits of oatmeal
as part of your natural skincare routine!

Adrenal Support
As we discuss recharging our bodies, I have to tell you that using these two essential oils have been a lifesaver for my adrenals!! I find nutmeg to irritate my skin on it's own, so I use a bit of coconut oil. Apply 1-2 drops of NUTMEG over adrenals (found on mid back just about an inch on either side of your spine) first thing in the morning. I then apply a drop of ENDOFLEX over my thyroid and a drop or two over my adrenals as well! Check out the picture below. The adrenal glands are the yellow on top of the kidneys.
