Toxins are present in our lives whether we like it or not. With each choice we make and each product we use, we’re either letting toxins build-up in our bodies, or we’re not.

As The Toxin Terminator, it’s my job to help spread awareness and prevent toxins from causing havoc in our bodies. You can prevent and overcome chronic disease by removing toxins from your everyday life.

I believe that the only way to restore your health is to get rid of harmful toxins for good. The only problem is that most people have no idea just how many hidden toxins they’re willingly putting into their bodies on a daily basis.

I want to take this opportunity to talk to you about where we are as a nation with the health crisis. I’ll also share a few things that you can do on a regular basis to make a real difference to you and your family’s lives.

So, are you ready to remove those hidden toxins for renewed health? Read on...

Your health has been hijacked!

Dr. Tom Reed is a double board-certified medical and surgical specialist. His book, ‘Your Health Has Been Hijacked,’ reveals shocking health statistics that explain the harsh truth that many people don’t want to accept – our health has been stolen by the very people we've entrusted to protect us.

George Orwell once said, “The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it.”

I think this quote is fitting because it’s true. Sometimes, the truth is hard to hear. But in this case, it’s absolutely necessary.

Inside his book, Dr. Tom Reed reveals some terrifying statistics. Did you know that between 90 to 95% of ALL cancer cases are linked to lifestyle, not genetics? That means that you are able to influence the future of your health through your choices. To find out more about why many people believe cancer is a preventable disease, click here.

Let’s talk about one of the fastest growing cancers in the world - breast cancer. As it stands, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In the next 10 years, that number is expected to decrease to one in two women.

The truth about chemicals

The overall health of Americans is declining rapidly. Chronic diseases are at an all-time high with little hope that we’ll ever recover, and toxic man-made chemicals are to blame.

You don’t have to live in a bubble to protect yourself from harmful chemicals. All you have to do is limit or, even better, eliminate toxins from your life. Chemicals have replaced bacteria and viruses as the main threat to human health.

Chemicals are in everything. They’re in our water sources, in the air we breathe, our food and our everyday products.

There are over 80,000 chemicals currently approved to be used in the marketplace. Out of those 80,000 chemicals, the EPA has only been able to ban nine of those. Nine!

Dangerous chemicals to avoid

While I can’t list all of the chemicals you should avoid (which is most, if not all of them by the way), I will go over a few that are particularly harmful.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is an anionic detergent and found in hundreds if not thousands of personal care products. It has been connected to cancer, skin irritation, endocrine disruption, and many other ailments. Yet, it’s still used in shampoo, toothpaste, body wash, face wash, dish soap, laundry soap and many more home products.

Guess what SLS is also used for?

It removes car grease from garage floors…and people are using this on their faces, hair and bodies. It’s a huge skin irritant and should be avoided at all costs.

Here are some more harmful chemicals you should avoid:

1. Phthalates

Phthalates are a serious health concern because they’re a toxic chemical known to be an endocrine disrupter. Phthalates have been banned from being used in children’s toys, but it can still be found inside our body cleansing products.

2. Formaldehyde

Often used in shampoos, candles, and home sprays, Formaldehyde can be very damaging to your skin and when you breathe it in, it can cause asthma, allergic reactions and has been known to cause cancer. Oh, and did I mention that this is the same chemical they use to embalm bodies at the morgue?

3. Butoxyethanol

This toxin is known to cause sore throats and severe kidney and liver damage. You’ll find it in everyday store-bought laundry detergents and dryer sheets. It contains toxic ingredients that can lead to central nervous system disorders, muscular coordination issues, depression, headaches, vomiting, and nausea.

4. Fragrance

Don’t let the name fool you, Fragrance may be a common ingredient in hair products, but it can also cause allergic reactions and symptoms of asthma. Unfortunately, companies are not required to reveal the chemicals in their products because of proprietary trade secrets. However, you can scan your products at home using an app called Think Dirty and find out just how safe or unsafe a product is.

Bioaccumulation and toxic overload

Bioaccumulation occurs when toxins and chemicals gradually build up in an organism. Think about all of the products you use each day. Maybe you wake up in the morning and your routine involves washing your face with cleansers, toners and so on. Then, you get in the shower and use even more products. You apply makeup and before you know it, bioaccumulation is happening to YOU.

This is when your body is so overloaded with toxins, it can’t get rid of them fast enough. When we use all of these products, we’re exposing ourselves to harmful chemicals without even realizing it.

When you’ve got too many toxins in your body, whether through the pores in your skin or what you put into your body, you’re more likely to experience things like a lack of sleep and focus, skin issues such as rashes, eczema and psoriasis. You’re also likely to suffer from headaches, severe migraines and chronic diseases.

What should you do next?

All of this talk about chemicals and harmful toxins is sure to make you more than a little freaked out. But, rest assured, you have time to turn things around. I’ve been at this for six years, and I’m still not 100% toxin-free. It takes a long time to cleanse and detox your body. It’s a process and you need to take it at your own pace.

A great resource that I use all the time is the Environmental Working Group, which shows you important information about the products you can use to help you achieve a toxin-free home.

I’m associated with a company called Young Living, whose products are plant-based and contain an essential oil or plant-based product in them.

  1. Oh, I couldn't agree more. EOs helped me a great deal after undergoing breast explant surgery. Talk about chemicals that kill. Any women who has breast implants should do some research NOW and get those toxic boob bags out! Great post with great suggestions.
